COMP Cams 4784-16 ID Spring Locator Set of 16-1.500" OD, .570" ID, .060" Thickness

COMP Cams offers a simple but effective solution to this problem. These Valve Spring Locators provide a thin, hardened steel alloy seat that will not only protect the head and shim, but also locate and hold the spring in place. Previously, this part has been available only in a cup form with the retaining portion being on the outside of the part. This required that the head be machined a great deal to accept this cup so COMP now offers an I.D. locator with the locating shoulder on the inside, as well as the spring cup.

• Race Ready - Older style standard shims will not hold up to extreme spring pressures and high RPM's found in today's street and racing engines. COMP's hardened steel alloy seat ensures spring stability, durability and high RPM performance.
• Fewer Shims, More Stability - Stacking shims is not the best way to set up valve springs to their appropriate installed height. Since they are available in multiple locator thicknesses, these locators eliminate the need to stack shims, while also adding to valvetrain stability and durability.
