NT’s KIRIE DK1P precision art knives are specially designed for ‘KIRIE’ artists and those who enjoy ‘KIRIE’ as a hobby as well as for modelers, art & design students. ‘KIRIE’ means paper cutting art in Japanese and it requires patience for meticulous attention to detail. KIRIE detail craft knives are the perfect paper carving tools. Three unique features to this innovative KIRIE design knife differentiate from other common art knives. First feature is its thin-shaft. Thinner shaft of KIRIE precision craft knife allows for tighter turns when cutting, enabling a finer, more delicate and precision cutting work. Also, the slim cutter has fewer blind areas of where you want to cut compared to the larger shaft. The second special point is its light weight. KIRIE hobby knife weighs only 7.3g which makes detailed work more enjoyable with less hand fatigue. The third most user-oriented unique feature of KIRIE detail craft knife is that the center of the gravity is closer to the tip of the blade. In order to make a clean cut at the end of the cutting, the paper must be cut off vertically. Therefore, the blade must be held vertically at the end of the cut. Regular pen cutter’s center of gravity is in the back and its weight naturally causes the shaft to lie down at an angle when cutting, so it is necessary to make a conscious effort to stand it up at the end of the cut. This KIRIE knife’s center of gravity is closer to the tip of the blade, so the shaft naturally stands up and remains standing until the end, eliminating the need to consciously stand it up at the end of the cut. Also, the regular art knife feels as if it is in your hand, while this KIRIE precision art knife feels as if your hand is resting on the standing body. The heavy feeling of the tool in your hand and constantly holding it upright at the end of each cut can be annoying and stressful. Cutting with KIRIE knife that is meticulously designed for KIRIE paper cutting art will take this pressure away. You will be able to continue cutting with ease concentrating on your detailed project. Unlike regular hobby knives with painted surface finish, KIRIE precision art knives are anodized, which is more resistant to peeling and has a higher surface hardness than paint. The body is made of milled aluminum for extra durability. Included are 20 each of 30-degree sharp point blades and a convenient cap to cover the blade when not in use. Available in 3 elegant colors: "pink gold," "white gold," and "yellow gold"
