Serial Num Break: 240000000 and above

Problem: Premature failure of alternator in the field

Root Cause: Regulator pins were failing under normal load conditions, leading to early alternator failure.

We’ve implemented two key improvements to increase durability and prevent early failures:

  • Upgraded Regulator Pin Design – A new supplier was sourced for regulator pins with a more robust design that can better withstand operational stresses.

  • Double Roller Bearing – The alternator now features a double roller bearing in place of a single bearing. This design helps distribute the dynamic load and extends service life.

These improvements are in place for all Reman Alternators starting with serial number 240000000, beginning with units built on or after 1/1/2024.
